Choosing an appropriate outfit for a wedding can be a stressful matter – let alone when your other half disagrees with your decision of choice.
A user on Mumsnet has stressed her concern after her boyfriend has voiced that he thinks her choice of dress for a pal’s wedding is “inappropriate”.
In the post, the anonymous user shared a snap of the red bardot midi dress with large puff sleeves, believing that his concerns lay with the colour.
However, users of the popular site spotted the bigger issue with the outfit in question.
She said: “My boyfriend said he thinks this dress isn’t appropriate for a wedding because it’s red?
“This is new to me? The last two weddings we’ve been to I wore red and he didn’t say anything.
“So I’m just wondering what peoples thoughts are is this appropriate?” She asked.
Users took to the comment section of the post to comment on the woman’s choice of outfit – that was reduced in the sale for £33.
“The colour is fine, I’m not sure about the style. If the wedding is in a religious venue I wouldn’t reveal that much skin personally,” one wrote.
“I wouldn’t wear that to a wedding because of the style rather than the colour,” another added.
“It’s too revealing and eye-catching so might take attention away from the bride.”
A third added: “Maybe he’s trying to be polite by saying the colour is the problem, it kind of looks like a flamenco fancy dress costume…
“I don’t think that dress would be appropriate for a wedding in any colour,” a fourth penned.
“Very revealing, very detailed (may compete with bridesmaids).”
